Biochar is charcoal used as a soil amendment. Biochar is a stable solid, rich in carbon, and can endure in soil for thousands of years. Like most charcoal, biochar is made from biomass via pyrolysis. Biochar is under investigation as an approach to carbon sequestration. —Wikipedia

This half-day workshop demonstrates how to make your own tin-man charcoal reactor and how to turn the charcoal from the reactor into biochar.  Class cost includes printed material.

If you would like to make your own tin-man reactor along with the instructor, we can purchase the materials for you for an additional $40, or we can give you a list of the materials you will need to bring to the class.
